Syllabus for Geometry and Algebra 2
Grading:
Students will be assigned a letter grade following the scale below according to the total percentage student has earned (points earned/points possible).
Grading Scale %
100-90…A
89-80…B
79-70…C
69-60…D
59-0…F
Item Weight per Semester
Test 50%
Quizzes 10%
Assignments/Practice 25% (drop the two lowest scores)
Final 15%
Any work that is missing, poorly done, or lacking evidence of understanding will be given back as incomplete. All incomplete work can be made up for higher credit. Students may turn in assignments up to one class session late for full credit unless arranged otherwise by me. Should problems arise, communication with me is the best remedy.
The following is my rubric for grading assignments:
Score / Ranking / Description
3 / Proficient / All problems have been completed with general accuracy and turned in on time
2 / Basic / Completing problems, showing work with very few problems skipped and/or answers are generally not correct/consistent
1 / Below Basic / Too many problems skipped, work is clearly not shown, and/or solutions to problems are generally inconsistent.
0 / Incomplete / Assignment not turned in or incomplete. No work shown.
